028. Unconventional Negotiation to Get What You Want
Fotini Iconomopoulos is an expert in negotiation and conflict resolution. She understands that most people aren’t fans of conflict and associate negotiation with potential conflict. Our brain’s fight or flight response kicks in, just like when faced with a physical threat like a sabertooth tiger (metaphorically speaking, of course). Even though we don’t face the same physical threats today, our bodies still react the same way during stressful conversations.
Fotini’s book, Say Less, Get More, encourages taking a pause to regain rationality before saying something we might regret. She knows the fears that come up during negotiations – leaving something on the table and damaging relationships. Through her workshops and surveys, Fotini helps people navigate these saber-tooth tiger moments and negotiate with grace and diplomacy.
